Post-Panto - Cinderella 2014

Hello!

This post is going to be a massive thank you.

In terms of tickets sales this has been the MOST POPULAR panto in living memory with 5 of 6 shows completely sold out. We actually turned people away at one show... It was so successful I can confirm that we have already SOLD 70 (Seventy) tickets for next years panto to Uxbridge Scouts.

Will there be a DVD?
Every year I try to produce a DVD and in more recent years I have put videos on my personal YouTube however due to demand we had one performance professionally filmed. The form is below (at very end) and you can either hand this to Carol Campling on Wednesday 5th Feb with the cash or POST it directly to Robert Simpson with a cheque by mid-Feb.

You may have seen some of the reviews on the Facebook page. The feedback has been AMAZING. Ann, our newest member who has been backstage manager at other amdram groups, commented on what an amazing family we are and how well behaved some people are backstage - especially compared to other groups. Claire said her 'thank yous' between the two Saturday shows which will be an extra on the DVD. Our big thank you to Claire, which consisted of Baileys and a dressing gown, was also filmed and will be on YouTube soon.

Thank you to all the advertisers! - Programme still available, now £1!
A big thank you to everyone who advertised in our programme but also on the 'Safety Curtain'. The 'Curtain' is available to view now on YouTube but you can get your Offical Programme at any Panto Rehearsal for just £1.00. Hurry, limited stock left!

So, what does 2014 hold for IHDC?
There are plans afoot but for tonight (Wed 5h Feb) will be a party with games to celebrate a successful show.

Looking further ahead, Zoe Munro will be producing and Directing a play with the Children and younger Teens. Details to be confirmed but I know there was a rumor the youngsters thought they could do Shakespeare better than us old fogeys! Terry Sharp is looking at producing a One Act Play with the older Teenagers, possibly to enter into the Woking Drama Festival, as we recognise this 'demographic' of the club needs more attention and a boost. Whilst the Adults, well they are physically over 18!, will be reading plays over the next few weeks. There are a couple to be examined including a musical play based in World War One and a couple of comedy/farces. Dot Cosgrove has expressed an interest in producing a play which means I might get to be in a show with Claire - first time agesssss.

Finally, I just wanted to say a huge thank you for all your support. YOU keep this club going whether it is being in the audience, promoting us on Social media, being involved in our shows or perhaps you help paint or donate a prop or sew a skirt... You are the life blood of this club and the fantastic work it does for our community.

Cinderella 2014 - Last Chance!

I just wanted to take this oppotunity and say a big thank you to everyone who has already booked tickets or seen the show and to the amazing crew and cast. With flying scenery and a rather scary bedroom scene, and not because the Dames take their dressing gowns off, this panto has been the best I have ever been involved in. One review on our facebook page commented on how good the singing was whilst another one said that they had relatively low expectations (well, it is local village AmDram) and they were blown away with how good and professional it is. Well done all!!

Will the panto be on DVD?

Yes! This year it is being professionally filmed by Bob Simpson. DVDs are £8.00 and forms available from Carol during the show.

Advertise!

Before and after the show and during the interval we run a looping PowerPoint presentation on the ‘Safety Curtain’. This year I am offering for adverts or business cards to be put on the slideshow along with our photographs from rehearsals and information about the club.

I’m asking for a £10 donation and a A5 shaped advert or business card which would fit perfectly - it would be seen a couple of times at least each show. Maybe feature a special offer? December 2014 - NEWS/Enewsletter

Hello!

So as the nights get longer and Mr Frost makes a more regular appearance, here’s the latest from Stoneybroke AKA IHDC:

Start Spreading the News!      

Have you spotted us in the local papers? We’ve made it into three papers in the past few weeks! The cuttings are on our Facebook page and on the Press page of www.ihdc.co.uk

This little bit of press coverage has really helped and we’ve had some big group bookings in the past couple of weeks – so nag your friends and family –spread the news!

Best Sales EVER!

Chairwoman and Box Office extraordinaire Sandra commented this week that she’s never seen sales this good before Christmas. We’ve had some big groups book (hello to Iver Heath Brownies and the Automotive CUS team at Bosch!) and some more due too. As we’ve said we hate to turn people away so please nag your friends and family to call now otherwise the show they want to come to might be sold out – even before Christmas! During our recent adventures at the Richings Park Christmas Fayre (where Grizelda flirted and sang with The Salvation Army) and the Ivers Christmas Light Switch-On (where lots of little ones posed for pics with Cinderella) we were actually blown away with some of the great feedback we received – especially with several locals who said that whilst we were the cheapest panto around we were definitely the best village panto they’d ever seen.

It’s Christmas!

Finally a big thank you Claire and Paul Freeman who organised and ran a Frantic Christmas social. At the time of typing this over 1000 people had seen the pictures on facebook, yet we’ve only got 180 likes on Facebook and we’ve only sold 100-ish tickets… So please, if you haven’t already find us on Facebook and click LIKE.

Cinderella 2014 - Cast and Crew Update!

 Hello cast and crew!

Tonight, Wed 30th October,  we are asking everyone to wear costume or black clothing so we can take a whole cast and crew photo to show off James's award but also to use on flyers.

On Wednesday 13th November we are having a Fancy Dress Rehearsal to raise money for BBC Children In Need. It is only £1 (on top of the normal £2 membership fee).

On Wednesday 4th December we have a Christmas Social! Friends and Family are invited. Bring a picnic! Entertainment includes the all new game show FRANTIC by Paul Freeman.
